I just found this old quote I had put on my Linked-In page… It still stands as a good description of what I think I do as a continuity script supervisor:
“As Script Supervisor, I’m healthy and on set every day. I support the Director and Editor by providing a sharp eye for continuity (Eyeline, Props, Hair, Pacing, Costumes, Dialogue) to ensure our footage cuts-together in the editing room. While on set, I take digital photos for reference, line the script to ensure coverage, and submit extensive daily notes to the editor and crew at the end of each day.”
